EVEN ODDS was co-Produced by Llew Cleaver (ex head of production SBS now PTC) from Spearhead /Surreal Productions & Mandie Messenger from ScreenQuest who also wrote & directed this story.
A 7 minute version was entered in the 2004 Tropfest Film Festival but did not get to the finals. We are currently editing the full version which is approx. 18 mins & look forward to working with Llew again soon. Basically it focuses on domestic violence.

STORY OUTLINE

Kate is stuck in an abusive relationship with Johnny who is a security guard at their local bank but he is a gambler who drinks away his pay check every week. After the bank threatens to repossess their home Kate decides she must deal with this for the welfare of her baby so she robs the bank dressed as a man. The teller slips a dye bomb in one of the bags staining all the bills. Kate takes Johnnys money out of his wallet & replaces it with the stained money.
After depositing the good money back into the bank Kate waits for Johnny to arrive. Minutes later the police enter the bank & drag a protesting Johnny to their car. Kate is free of Johnny & has the money for a better life for both of them.
